How to Become Powerful Today (Hint: it doesn't involve much of you at all)

Today, we take a minute to thank God for his most powerful gift to us. We reflect on a common statement we make as Believers upon hearing bad news regarding a loved one or global state of affairs. Often, our response is something like 'all we can do is pray'. Wait a minute...isn't that the very action we "believe" influences everything that occurs in our lives and the world?

What arrogance we have developed to think that we are more likely in a better position to help than Our Creator. This is not to say that we should not try to assist whenever possible. To the contrary - if we are in a position with the skills, time, and ability to assist someone in need, then it is by God's design. Let's enjoy gratefulness to Him for providing us the opportunity to act on His behalf.

Let's resolve today to remember that we can always FIRST pray over any situation and then, God-willing, we can be his direct arm of assistance where needed. After all...we have the most powerful tool ready to address ANY situation at hand - we have the power of prayer!
