Galatians 5:22-23 - "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law"
Can you imagine a you that consistently exhibits all of these characteristics... love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control? I know I strive to be that person - someone who is characterized by these traits... someone who is much more righteous... someone much further along in my personal walk with Christ.
But wait! Understood rightly, I actually CAN exhibit all of these qualities as often as I allow. Let me explain...
I am here to remind you today that if you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you ARE able to exhibit all of these qualities as often as you like.
Let me give you a little history. It all started on the day of Jesus' Ascension into heaven, 50 days after His Resurrection.
On that day, before He left until His second coming, He sent His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, to dwell inside the hearts of Christians. This Spirit literally lives inside us Christians, and anyone who accepts Christ as their Savior, empowering them to live like He did.
You may believe that you have no self-control around powerful addictions... you may feel no joy when life becomes overwhelming or disappointing... you may find it impossible to love certain people in your life.
But the reality, as promised and delivered to you by God, is that He has sent His Spirit to dwell within you. The evil that is present in our world will continually challenge you to actually live your daily life exhibiting these traits. Memorizing this verse can be a powerful way to remind yourself of the power that resides inside of you.
Please share your own success in applying this memory verse to a difficult situation. Your contributions will help other visitors understand the many daily applications of this verse in supporting building His Kingdom!
