Ephesians 4:1 - "Live a life worthy of the calling you have received"

I continue to act impatient, selfish, and irritable with others around me.
I continue to wonder if I even really know HOW to love the way Jesus has commanded us.
Despite my "head" understanding more than ever about God's great design and plan for His people, my "heart" just doesn't seem to get it!
Have you ever felt this way, too?
You see, when we believe that God is omniscient (all knowing) and omnipresent (in all things), logic leads us to understand a big truth about our awesome future.
An all-knowing God actually chose each of us - called us - to become a believer in Christ.
He did this before the beginning of time, knowing how imperfect we would actually turn out to be.
I don't know about you, but the thought of the God who conceived of and created the universe taking that much interest in my simple existence is absolutely humbling!
Personally, however, I do not always live in that awesome reality.
Rather, I tend to belittle the magnitude of God's calling within the perpetual task list of modern culture.
As a result, I also miss the tremendous responsibility of LIVING in a manner worthy of this gift.
And this is exactly where this particular memory verse from the book of Ephesians can be transforming.
Paul reminds us in the opening verse of chapter 4 of Ephesians that we are to live life in a manner worthy of His calling for us.
Our Lord has already planned for our very existence with Him in paradise for all of eternity, free from the brokenness in this world.
What a gift! And what a calling we have to follow His ways on Earth as a grateful response...
